This Zippo makes a nice conversation starter... and, yes, it is a fire-breathing dragon!
George G. Blaisdell founded Zippo in 1932 and the company produced its first lighter early the following year. As testimony to Blaisdell's superior product, the original patent for the windproof lighter was granted in March of 1936 and, with the exception of minor improvements, the lighter is essentially the same today.
During WWII the Bradford, Pennsylvania company ceased selling their products commercially and supplied the US military with lighters.
